Office Manners

Check out the five manners below that can drive your co-workers against you.

1. I'm better than you: Many people believe that talking down to colleagues will give them a competitive edge over their counterparts. Every now and then, they want to prove them better than the others at any cost. But instead of making them stronger, this kind of attitude will make them an irritating fellow in their co-workers' eyes. The colleagues will go against them.

2. Constant ringing of phone: Always keep in mind, the desk with flimsy partitions in that corner, where you always use to sit is not your private province. So don't take personal calls, keep your personal life and gripes to yourself. If you need to talk to somebody for some personal reason, lunch hour is all yours.

3. Criticizing and being Sarcastic: When a colleague comes to your desk to ask something, don’t give him a 'you don't even know that' look on your face. Being sarcastic about your colleague's opinions or frowning may put you in his black list.

4. Nosing around in other's conversation: Want to irritate your colleague really bad? Make sure that whenever your co-worker is asked something, it's you who answer to it even before the person who was asked. Come on! If you really use to do so, stop doing that and mind your own business.

5. Complaint management system personified: There is nothing wrong about making complaints regarding any inconsistencies in office management. But in order to become proactive, if you go to your boss and list all your colleagues' names with their corresponding complaints every other day, it will build grudge in your colleagues mind against you.

Creating and maintaining a good relation with colleagues can help you in many ways. Always keep in mind; what is allowable and tolerable for you may be annoying for your colleagues. So take down the above sins and keep yourself away from practicing them at any cost.
